Phone Verification Protocol

Why Vantage Requires Merchants to Verify Their Identity When Calling About Their Account

Overview

At Vantage Card Services, safeguarding your account and sensitive information is our top priority. To ensure compliance with security protocols and protect against unauthorized access, we require identity verification for any merchant calling about their account. This policy upholds our commitment to maintaining the integrity of your account while meeting industry compliance standards.

Why Identity Verification Is Necessary

  1. Protecting Sensitive Information

Merchants often inquire about details such as transaction history, banking information, or account settings, which are sensitive and private. Verifying the caller ensures this information is only accessible to authorized parties.

  2. Preventing Fraud and Unauthorized Access

Without verification, there’s a risk of fraudulent activity or unauthorized changes to your account, which could disrupt your business operations.

  3. Compliance with Regulations

Payment processing is a highly regulated industry. Identity verification ensures we comply with federal and industry requirements, such as PCI-DSS and data privacy laws.

Why Vantage Only Speaks with Verified Account Contacts

  1. Authorization Limits

We only speak with individuals listed as authorized contacts, owners, or signers on the merchant account application. This limitation ensures that only individuals with explicit authorization can make changes or access account information.

  2. Maintaining Chain of Responsibility

Authorized individuals are responsible for the account and any decisions or actions taken. Speaking with unauthorized individuals could lead to miscommunication or unauthorized changes.

  3. Data Privacy Obligations

Vantage is legally obligated to protect merchant information. By restricting access to verified account contacts, we minimize risks to your account and ensure compliance with our legal obligations.
